WHAT IS TOTUS TUUS?
- The Totus Tuus parish summer catechetical program, a week-long “parish mission” for Catholic youth in the 1st through 12th grades, is dedicated to proclamation of the Gospel and promoting the Catholic faith through evangelization, catechesis, apologetics, Christian witness, the sacraments, Marian devotion, and Eucharistic worship.
- Totus Tuus accomplishes this by taking college students and seminarians to engage the youth of the parish with skits, songs, games and inspiring, interactive teaching.
- Totus Tuus instructs young people in the basic tenets of the Catholic faith to cultivate both a firm intellectual grounding and a solid personal relationship with Christ.
- Totus Tuus demonstrates that one can be a faithful, practicing Catholic and still have fun!
Totus Tuus, a Latin phrase meaning “totally yours,” was the motto of St. John Paul II. Taken from St. Louis de Montfort’s work, True Devotion to Mary, it signifies our desire to give ourselves entirely to Jesus Christ through the hands of our Blessed Mother Mary. It also expresses our effort to give all that we have to every young person we encounter.
Totus Tuus seeks to inspire in young people a true longing for holiness, a deep desire for daily conversion, and an openness to their vocation by challenging them to give themselves entirely to Jesus Christ through Mary and by continually strengthening their prayer lives in imitation of Her.
The Totus Tuus program has divided the four pillars of the Catechism of the Catholic Church into a six year cycle. Additionally, each summer is dedicated to the mysteries of the Rosary. In 2018, Totus Tuus will cover the Creed and the Luminous Mysteries of the Rosary.

WHAT IS SPLASH CANYON?
Splash Canyon is our parish’s week-long summer catechetical program for children ages 3-5 who have not yet attended kindergarten. This program is dedicated to proclaiming the Gospel and promoting the Catholic faith through age-appropriate evangelization and catechesis! Parish teens and young adults engage the children with interactive Bible stories, hand-on crafts, high-energy music, and more, which are all enriched with Gospel truths that build faith.
ABOUT THE THEME ‘SPLASH CANYON
KEY THEME: Discover God’s promises on life’s wild ride!
KEY BIBLE VERSE: “For all the promises of God find their Yes in Him.” 2 Corinthians 1:20
Life is full of thrills and spills; we may not know what’s around the bend, but God does! At Splash Canyon, children learn that, on life’s wild ride, Jesus is by our side. God saves us through Jesus and gives us life and hope every day and forever.
The Splash Canyon curriculum is pulled directly from the Bible. Children will learn that God is with us through the story of Baby Moses in the river, that God gives us life through the story of God’s people entering the promised land, that God is faithful through God healing Naaman in the Jordan River, that God gives hope from God saving Paul from the Sea, and that Jesus is our savior in the story of Jesus being baptized.
PRE-SCHOOL & KINDERGARTEN PROGRAM
Children ages 3-5 who have not attended kindergarten are invited to participate in the Splash Canyon half-day vacation Bible school program held Monday to Friday, July 10th to July 14th, 2017 from 8:45 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church Campus in Bellevue.
